Oklahoma ranks No. 1 on the list of best places for ease of investment in oil and gas worldwide according to a recent survey from the Fraser Institute. In addition to the No.1 worldwide ranking among the 156 locations in Fraser's "Global Petroleum Survey 2014," Oklahoma was ranked as the No. 1 most attractive jurisdiction with medium-sized oil and gas reserves; the No. 1 most attractive for investment in petroleum exploration and development; and No. 1 for having the lowest barriers for investment, among others.

Oklahoma continues to see impressive manufacturing growth through the first half of the fiscal year. In fact the Bureau of Economic Analysis ran the numbers and the Sooner state paced the nation in manufacturing earnings growth of durable goods from the first to second quarter of 2014. Oklahoma saw a 4.1 percent increase, a full half a percent higher than the next closest state on the list.

Five Metro Schools Ranked Among America's Best

Thumbtack, in partnership with the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, has named Oklahoma the seventh best state in the nation for small business friendliness in a survey of more than 12,000 small-business owners. Oklahoma City's small business friendliness score was an A-. The state's A+ ratings came from ease of starting a business, zoning and training and networking programs.
